A Collection with Direction
Over the course of two days, I built this magazine from the ground up with Adobe InDesign. The motivation for the project stemmed from a class assignment where I wrote six articles for two different online platforms. It was my job to select a topic of interest, conduct interviews and write an engaging story.
One of the platforms I wrote for was Auburn Family. It is a student blogging website that seeks to highlight the total experience that prospective students can expect before choosing Auburn. Topics range from fun weekend activites to on-campus dining options. My stories were about Auburn's new president, the Jordan-Hare student section and the campus cats.
Extension Daily is a platform for the latest news and tips for gardening, health, wildlife and so much more. I enjoyed writing these stories because I had to research the topics and the individuals that I interviewed. My story topics highlighted the Master Gardener program, planting summer flowering bulbs and dealing with varmints in your attic. This process was a challenge because I had to balance writing, editing and finding the next topic in a timely fashion.
Making this magazine seemed to be a daunting task at first, but I'm thankful for the experience that it provided me. I hope you enjoy it!
